Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So are you going to address the questions about employment law, residence permits and insurance?

Do you know what would happen if one of your neighbours reported you to the police? I've had friends who were reported, although in their case they did actually have all the necessary permits and documentation. Are you confident that you'd pass inspection? The Swiss are not known to be shy in calling the police if they think someone breaking the rules.

Look on it like an annual tradition. Instead of Santa Claus, nixmap puts on his REPW hat and sorta promises goodies to the good boys and girls but is totally evasive about the actual expectations/workload and even more so about the legalities. Some of the shade thrown is from people with good intentions trying to prevent the unwary getting into a difficult position with the Swiss authorities and others just for the hell of it. And pam w always of course mentions that the truly wealthy have no problem actually paying people to do the housekeeper/concierge/chef job.

My own thinking is that this has been going on for so long that if it is genuine and the slaves/best buddies have such a good time that the position must surely being filled from word of mouth referrals by now so I suspect nixmap is really in it for the trolls.

Me I'm mainly in it for the stories of the midweek midget porn shoots and goat orgies.

This. But we can still enter with gusto into a discussion 20 years running about the most snowsure resorts in mid-December or whether it is criminally negligent to ski with music (that is overdue a run through.....). So discussing whether being asked to do all this work, for an unspecified time, for no pay is, or is not, the opportunity of a lifetime is child's play.

If you personally aren’t going to work for Nix - why does it matter? Having a yearly troll fest about it clearly has no effect on the OP because they come back with the same offer year on year.

If it is a free choice of all parties involved, and either party is free to leave the agreement without repercussions why are others getting so uppity?

If Nix is indeed in it for the trolls, why feed the beast?

Because it's a mild diversion and people genuinely don't want to see someone in a position of being roasted by the Swiss police?

Who says I wouldn't ever do it? Sounds an ideal sabbatical or early retirement gig IF it doesn't carry the potential to be in legal hot water. But I can't see him ever acting towards this community in a way which gives any useful insight to the real experience so frankly couldn't be arsed with the game playing.

It’s up to the person/ people who choose to take Nix up on their offer to do due diligence on the legality of the offer, especially as everyone has repeatedly voiced their feelings/concerns on this issue. Snowheads who debate its legality in the same circular way every year while simultaneously declare themselves ‘no expert in Swiss law’ still aren’t any the wiser after however many years of debating it… so, either get a definitive answer on the subject or stop trolling Nix

Peoples unhealthy fixation on the topic says more about them than Nix anyway.

With respect it can't be everyone else doing the trolling. It can't be trolling to ask reasonable but unanswered questions. The one person who is best in a position re understanding Swiss legalities (outside those who are already Swiss resdients and thus unlikely to find the offer that appealing) is the OP who resolutely avoids the subject. That gives me my own personal DD answer.

And who are you to demand that we become experts in Swiss law to respond on a thread? Doesn't strike me that you're actually adding anything either other than in a Scoopsesque contrarian fashion.

But if those ‘questions’ have gone unanswered by Nix and unsolved by everyone else, at one point does all of this palaver become trolling - on either side.

I’m not ‘demanding’ people become experts in Swiss law, anymore than you are going to take up Nix on the offer this year or next or ever… but surely there comes a point where you’re just bored of the same debate by self declared non experts in the subject.

At what point after this many years are people just going to ignore Nixmap? Whether you consider Nix a baiter on not. Surely there’s enough information on this forum for potentials to find what information they need - I mean when other topics are duplicated no one has a problem posting a link to the relevant subject matter, but something about this one seems to make everyone else foam at the mouth.

Lols … saying I’m worked up about it is such a predictable response.

Yes, some people do foam at the mouth with the thread. Every year. If people honestly think Nixmap is the troller here, what exactly is the problem with just ignoring the thread? Nix will go away / stop posting eventually, won’t he?

As is telling someone they aren't arguing right Laughing .

Look on it like this - this thread is a microcosm of everything on the internet. Someone trying to get something for his/her advantage, cheerleaders saying it's a good thing, sceptics saying it isn't, others just playing for the glimpse of goat porn, people telling the sceptics they should just wee wee off rather than be Dolly Downers, counter arguing against the anti sceptics , arguments about the nature of arguments...

TLDR It all ends in restraining orders and police warnings.

Hours of work would be the one I'd like to know, if considering this job.....and cost of local ski pass, some idea of transport and lunches costs. If I was arguing against myself I wouldn’t be answering other peoples points/questions, yet the same people come on the same thread every year saying the same things, winding themselves up about the same post from the same snow head… yet they always expect different results, isn’t that the definition of insanity?

I’ve no interest in Nixmap’s ‘job’ offer. And I’m sure 99.99% of people on snowheads don’t either, yet you all keep feeding the beast under the idea of ‘saving’ some poor, naive individual who more than likely isn’t even on snowheads from a life of slavery.

Shameful? Quite the opposite
