Great stuff! Got any more info on his skiing background... ie. how much effort it took to get him to this level at his age.
May the future hold good things for him

Thanks all for your lovely comments! shoogly, Robert began skiing on a plastic slope at Welwyn on his 3rd Birthday. He progressed through the various groups swiftly and was invited to attend ski racing sessions and took part in his first regional summer series ski race at the age of 5. When he was six he joined Hemel ski race club and attended weekly training sessions. We watched the Hemel centre transform into an indoor snow centre and to this day he has attended once a week for a 2hour training session with Jon Reidy at the club.
Robert has had very limited time out training on snow compared with other children in his age group mainly due to lack of funds from his parents. At the age of 11 Robert was selected to the GB Children's team and is currently in his 4th year on the team.
Robert is a current member of Telford Alpine Ski Club when he trains and races out on snow. On the whole he mainly manages a week of training before a week of Racing trying to combine his important school work. Many people including family and friends help Robert in the background especially the Hertfordshire Talented Athlete Programme where he receives expert one to one Strength and conditioning sessions, Sports psychology and nutrition and time management advice but we attribute Robert's recent ski racing achievements to the fantastic support and encouragemnet he receives from the Telford coaches, Mark Vinter and Sally Bartlett.
We sincerely hope that Robert will be able to continue into FIS and beyond next year and are currently trying to source financial support for him..... like many other talented GB ski racers! Please feel free to contact us via Robert's website if you would like to help in any way and be a part of what could be a very exciting journey! He certainly has the will and determination to succeed.
Thank you once again for all the lovely comments.

Well done to Robert at the 2013 'Topolino' International Ski Race Championships held recently in Folgaria, Italy. Amongst a very strong International field of 46 Countries taking part, Robert came 1st placed British with a commendable 14th Place overall in the Slalom.

Robert has a possible chance of trying to win £300.00 ......if he's lucky!
This would be a huge help towards his ski racing. Please can we ask the lovely supporters on this thread to have a quick look at the following link and possibly vote for him? Robert .......and me would really appreciate your support.
Many Thanks.

Yes, but when it eventually invites you to vote, a box opens up (asking for your email address etc) and it's that box which won't scroll down for me.

Gillian, done. Incidentally I follow Robert with interest as have a very talented 6 year old. He has skied since the age of 2 and at 3 did a whole season with us. Interesting to read that Robert joined hemel ski club at 6 as the rules have obviously changed as now it is 7. Emerson has been accepted into ski/race club in France as a result of his ability but he cannot do so here until he is 7.
