Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Scratching isn't 'damage' like a dented rim, it's cosmetic, but I take your point.

Yo can buy protectors for alloy wheels as chains scratch, road salts aren't good for alloy wheels and hitting kurbs happens through sliding or not being able to see them under the snow. I've bent a steel wheel this way and it wasn't just cosmetic, the tyre had a slow puncture as the rim didn't give a good seal after the hit.

feef, If you will stand the shipping cost I'd happily get you a set and stick them in the post if they still have them when I next pass tommorow evening.

I reckon the shipping cost on that weight would be more than they're worth tbh..

If noone nearer has them, then I could pop in on the way past as I go up to, or back from Scotland over the Xmas period, if you can hold them that long?

Yup that'd be OK, I'm about 15 miles north of Derby (20 min or so off the M1)

I was a bit sad too as I wanted 155s for my 107, but they don't go down that little Was really looking forward to getting them too - just need them to get out of our never ever ever snowploughed or salted street, so at 20 squids they were a barg.

It's not worth putting them on just to get down a street. Stick winter tyres on your car and just drive out!

You might not think that if you lived there. I've seen photos of it on FB.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

feef, andyman, DB,

Thanks for the info, appreciated, I'll have a look into all of that. I managed to get away with not driving in the snow the last few winters but want to be better prepared especially with a RWD.
