For me there are two things that slightly spoil the Austrian skiing experience
1. Early morning church bells
2. Austrian twin beds

For me there are two things that make Austrian skiing a great experience
1. Apple strudel
2. Tiroler Groestl
I could go on but e.g., seems to have set the rules at 2 goes only

Steilhang, I can't see a problem either, the beds are a great invention and space saver! Two mattresses, two pillows two duvets what's not to like?

Steilhang, Samerberg Sue, skiing is normally the boys holiday and I'd rather not sleep that close to my brother

The beds are fine and usually good quality. I can see there could be a problem for those not fully confident in their own sexuality.

It's horrible to have your clothes stink of smoke after going for apres.

I was on a course and the guy sharing my room moved his mattress to the floor, rather than sleep next to another man.
In the morning I woke to heavy breathing. The type of heavy breathing you really don't want to wake up to.
After 10 minutes I plucked up the courage to "wake up suddenly".
He was doing hatha yoga.
Thank god.

O dear. I wondered how long this thread would last before the usual French-knocking started. Not long, as it turned out.  How drearily predictable.

At least austrian twins are adjacent for snuggling with your beloved (if that's who you're sharing with!). My boyfriend and I had a rather unromantic holiday in Finland where all the beds are singles and opposite sides of the hotel room! Mind you at least all the music in Finland was metal, not sure how much I'll enjoy the cheese-tastic austrian musical offerings when I go on saturday!

Your brother? I once ended up in a bed in Sterzing (Vipiteno) with a complete stranger. It was a single mattress double bed. I spent the night dreaming of Austrian double beds!
Positive aspect; by the end of the night I was sure I am not, and never will be, gay!

Smoking in bars and restaurants is the only thing that bothers me. But not enough to put me off the whole Austrian experience and most places have a non-smoking room.
I don't have a problem with Austrian twin beds, I only sleep on one side anyway.

Here in Austria at the moment, beds are fine it's the single quilts falling off are a nuisance! Smoking much much better than previous years, Après is the best here, cheesy music, Jaegermeister get on.....
Oh and it has to be said nowhere else beats the Austrian mountain huts for good food! And value!

If you were doing it right you would be listening to them from the top of the hill.
Not enough challenging terrain outside of the Allberg but other than that nothing a great place to ski and great value.
