Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone have their own insurance policy? If 'yes' which company / costs

Next week i'm going to be employed by a school as an additional instructor, however the school has asked for my own insurance policy documents.( Fair enough)

Any help would be of great assistance

1969jma, Are you BASI qualified ? My understanding is that you can be covered by them. I'm sure someone in the know will be along shortly.

Snowsport England do it as do BASI you would need to get equivalence/recognition from them for your quals though. Quick google search of public liability should get you going - most outdoor teachers can get their own just check with the company Smile

1969jma, not sure about CSIA, sorry. Why will the ski school you're working for not cover you?

1969jma, who is your employer going to be, and are they able to employ L2s in Austria? I would check with the local authority in the region you will be working in (the rules differ in different parts of Austria) that you are definitely legally able to work, as if not no liability insurance will cover you.

1969jma, in that case I'd push to get insurance covered by your employer. I'm no expert, but I think it will be difficult / expensive to get liability cover for an individual teaching part time

It's not cheap, but they do the best ski / mountain insurance going.
You can add professional cover, but it doesn't include public liability
