Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I bought them mounted with Dukes, the intention is to Dynafit them. Unfortunately the Duke holes are mounted for a boot 20mm shorter than mine so I'm a cm behind the line - not sure I want to QK that in place... Taken them out for one spin to check out what the mountain's like - shin deep slushy old pow and being in new touring boots wasn't much of an impression I can report back on, but going up was pretty pleasant!

DaveC, Dynaduke plate. You will gain 7mm in lift but it is probably worth it.

We've gone way o/t here but I'd just throw a word in for the JJ here. Probably the most versatile all mountain ski I have ever skied. Extremely nimble in soft snow and absolutely rails on piste - provided you like skiing something that behaves like a fat slalom ski. Given the versatility of the ski, I'm not quite sure what they are getting at with the TST but I remain ready to be converted.

I'd also gently suggest that while the Lhasa is a very solid piece of gear, it is about as different to the Preacher as we're likely to get. One is damn stiff, has a bunch of tip rocker and very little sidecut - essentially it is a fat GS ski and the other is bendier, conventionally cambered and has a bunch of sidecut.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

gorilla, actually yeah I didn't really think of plates - I dislike skiing on Dukes quite a lot but they're convinient (ish) but Sollyfit plates might be ideal. A 7mm higher Duke sounds pretty miserable, but I could cope with a 7mm higher 916.
