I am always surprised at seemingly normal people who would not dream of drinking before lunchtime sitting in airport bars drinking like deranged creatures at 7 in the morning, is it airports or just some stupid streak in the British that harks back to the old days of restricted drinking hours BUT its an airport so the rules didn't apply?

Airport departure lounges are on world time and it's therefore any time you want it to be. Nothing wrong with curry and lager for breakfast when in a departure lounge. Also take advantage of the opportunity to buy some items that you never previously required and never will, whilst having the benefit of paying over the top prices. I love departure lounges.

Boredsurfing, I aint gettin' on no plane unless I've had a skinful. For those rubbish European resorts that dont open their bars till a respectable time I go prepared with an Evian bottle of Mummy's special water. Is it Grenoble that doesnt serve alcohol in departures?
