Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sarge McSarge, if your pack's that big, unless you're planning glacier travel, having to ab, or on a big tour, then you're carrying too much.

Sounds like a classic case of all the gear...

In 3V's earlier this year I noticed a new batch of signs which I'd not seen before. Rather than the previous style of no backpacks on chairlifts, they now had a sign showing a small pack as being OK but a large pack as not being. Only noticed it on a couple of lifts so not sure if that means they are special lifts for small backpacks or whether they have some new signs that they've only put a few up of. I'd guess the latter.

All the chairlifts in La Thuile had signs telling you to carry your backpack on your lap rather than keeping it on your back. I only have a very small backpack, just big enough to carry purse, phone, tissues, hat, lock, camera, keys, and I confess I did keep it on my back a couple of times, but the laid back (and often cute) Italian lift chaps didn't seem to mind. I did see them telling someone with a big backpack to take it off.

15L Dueter is excellent, never any problems on lifts. Plenty of pockets and compartments, highly recommended!
