I think it's only recently twin tips have become frowned upon. When I did my L2 the trainer was on twin tips, and half the group.

Ditto for me last season. Trainer was on twin tips for one day, and I think three of the group for the duration. Rooster tails were mentioned once, so the point was acknowledged.

slikedges, i was really interested in some sparks but just too expensive... another option are skiercross skis which are seem like detuned GS skis but maybe a bit narrow...

skimottaret, SX12 in 183(?) . . best on-piste ski I've ever ridden and much better than the punter GS in the same length. (as of the 08 Mondial)

Masque, thats the daddy... guy i skied with this week (who was seriously good) said he was faster in GS courses on that ski than race dept GS skis.. he was slight though...

skimottaret, SX12 or SX11? How long were they being skied? I think in my length they'd miss the basi requirements. Anyone on freeride/all mountain type skis?

slikedges, i think they were 176 not sure what exact model.. one guy had touring skis on!! one had 185 fischer factory GS skis, one SL's mixed bag really.
the trainer said it was a strong recommendation and he was on compliant skis but the final choice was the individuals this year.
