Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

best ski resort in the world

It's a question only a very few people can answer objectively with any credibility. Unless you've experienced literally dozens of resorts in all parts of the world, you can't be sure you've missed out on the best (by whatever your own criteria might be). And even those few people who can answer the question can only answer it in terms of their own preferences. So it's a pretty lost cause, unless you simply grade resorts from simple statistical measures like size, average snowfall, lift capacity etc. I leave that to the holiday brochures.

My take on this is not to ask 'which is the best resort' (because if you ask 10 people you'll get 11 answers) but what is best about a given resort for example

Espace Killy - excellent pisting and easily accessible off-piste

Wengen - Scenic and 'interesting'

Les 2 Alpes - good value and snow sure

3V - huge ski area, wide variety of runs

Heavenly - Fantastic Snow depths, great pisting

Any resort in the Aosta Valley - Bombardinos

Sort of thing Very Happy

If you want something for a group of mixed ability skiers/boarders, I think Les Arcs takes some beating, it is certainly the best all rounder I have been to and that includes all the surrounding resorts such as Tignes, Meribel, Val etc etc.

I am only considering the snow side, the Apres ski is very low key, which suits me as I am very easily lead astray and that spoils the skiing.

Going back at Easter only 34 days to go and counting snowHead snowHead

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've been to about 20, but usually only for one week each, so Whistler, Val d'Isere, Selva=Meribel, would be my top three=four. I loved all the rest with a bit of a downside on Les Deux Alpes and Sestriere.
