Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Advice please on skiing holiday in March, Les Gets?

Spyderman, Fair enough, although I have no reason to think that BASS offer any more 'quality' than the next guy. IME the converse is true.

Remind me not to take a 7-day winter holiday in Xscape if I ever suggest it will you ? wink

Mirjam, IIRC 'Chalets Direct' is commercial but is 'independents' primarily?? So enforcing discipline is difficult to manage ( and even more difficult to enforce/monitor accuracy).

Mirjam, there's huge choice, and that is a good week. You need to narrow down what's important to you. Snowheads have a pretty impressive knowledge, between them, of what's what, and where, and it's usually obvious if people have their own commercial axe to grind - and are upfront about it. Some of the individual chalet operators who post on snowheads are probably a really good bet, rather than a big commercial company. But Les Gets remains a perfectly sensible choice of resort - except possibly for your advanced skier - and you can't have absolutely everything. Hence the need to prioritise. To get absolutely everything, ski-wise, you need to go somewhere like the Courchevel Valley, which can be expensive but has lovely nursery slopes as well as horribly scary couloirs and easy access to the other valleys for the kind of people who can't bear to ski the same run twice in a week.

pam w, I think there's plenty of scope for an advanced skier in Les Gets. Mont Chery is a dream, the off-piste is great. Very Happy

Mirjam,
Just noticed your are another suffolk girl......
Snowbizz at puy st vincent is very purpose built, we actually drove to Puy rather than flew to turin and had the transfer, but friends did the transfer on the coach and it was fairly hellish by all accounts!
I think the deal you described sounded fairly good and would be interested to hear your experiances on your return as I ahve thought about ski famille a few times
