Chamonix meteo is forecasting strong foehn (ie "snow-eater") wind towards the end of next week  If they're right, the whole of Savoie could see a bit of snow disappearing; there doesn't seem to be any significant new snow in the offing. But it's a long way off yet.

Skied the piste at Brevant Yesturday, awesome. Things getting cloudy, we'll have to wait and see. I reckon 20-30 before the weekend.

Just got back last night.
Sat (29): Snow in decent condition on Grand Montets, could use more of it though. Lifts kept on breaking down, some people were stuck midspan on the upper lift for nearly an hour. Now that'S €47 well spent!
Sun (30): Half metre of new up top on Flegere by the time it stopped snowing around midday. Unspeakably good skiing off the Index lift and whatever that crochrocket is called that goes up from there. It was really very good. Seemed more foggy on Brevent.
Mon (31): Snow in great shape from previous day's pounding. Brevent skied out for the most part, Flegere in much better shape (less crowded too).
Tue (1): Terrible headache. Very cold in town, somewhat chaotic at the airport. Don't know about the mountain.

phil625sxc, me too! Have been snow dancing for the last few days! Forecast says the foen wind has dropped and 30cms of new white stuff due over the next 3 days. Chamonix residents please tell me its true. Read on the internet so must be

angelaclark, Same here (sort of). I'm off to Les Contamines next Friday and am praying that what is there holds out and a nice couple of dumps at some point. News of the foehn terrified me!
I know that Les Contamines is not Chamonix and that I'm not going until the 11th so have a bit longer to wait, but i'm still checking the forecasts obsessively!

it started snowing on Grand Montets today about 14:00. Light snow, but quite steady. Probably dropped about 5cms before going home time.
it-s raining / sleeting outside now in Chamonix at the moment. They are saying 20 - 30 for tomorrow. Could be good, but it will most likely be cloudy.

Conditions in chamonix are fantastic. For off piste you need to stay above where the rain affected the snow, 2200m to be precise. More snow is forecast over the next couple of days 10-20cm on both.
