Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chill Factor business could be affected by congestion charge

Tomsk, exactly - as I said a bit earlier - they'll never have done all of that by 2012, or probably ever!

Tomsk, well they closed the Mental Health Hospitals down, before they set up the "Help In the Community" system, and now our prisons are full of poor souls with mental health problems that shouldn't be there at all. So you can be sure if there is money to be gained, the inconvenience caused by lack of public transport won’t enter into the equation. Sad

An update: they voted yes
Council bosses in Manchester have voted in favour of pushing ahead with the controversial congestion charge.
The peak time road pricing scheme would involve two charging rings - one at the M60, the other close to the city centre.
Entering the outer cordon would cost £2, with a further levy of £1 to get into the centre. An extra £1 would be charged to leave each of the zones.

This is outrageous.

Manchester is a post-industrial, post-agricultural, crumbling mess. And all the yokel council can come up with is taxing local motorists!

It is a staggeringly ignorant, selfish, myopic decision.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I used to drive into central Manchester a lot a few years ago (outside rush hour) and never found it congested.

Only £1 to leave? That's a bargain! I'm sure most people would pay far more Wink
