Poster: A snowHead

PV is ok with recovery in the last 180 days, but entry is not. Seems bonkers to me to have 2 different standards, and also likely to catch more than a few people out. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Yep. For simplicity it would be better to have settled on one standard for both. People just don't read/aren't very bright and are likely to mess up: - unbelievably on my last trip there were 2 separate people who turned up having taken NHS tests in order to fly, and were both confused/angry when told that was not acceptable.

Hard to fathom isn't it!? On the flip side official websites seem to delight in using interminable language rather than straightforward 'If you are 'x' then you MUST do 'y'' and so on.

There is no accounting for ignorance. I normally travel a lot on business and even without all this covid stuff the lack of preparation of some travellers is astonishing.
I agree though that the wording on lots of government websites is overly complex. Half-term will be interesting as many more non-frequent fliers so likely more confused/ill-informed/unprepared people.
Some airlines seem to be doing a good job of making it clear what you need before travelling though, EasyJet seems pretty good in this regard. We have to use Ryanair for 2 of our family this year, not surprisingly their Covid information is terrible, no effort at all, just links to government websites (sometimes to the wrong page). I suspect they will end up with a lot of unprepared people, but you sort of wonder if that is deliberate!

It probably allows them to sell 10% of the seats twice over!

Has anyone heard anything about France potentially changing its Pass Sanitaire requirements for unvaccinated teenagers before HT?

No, but does it seem likely that they will change the rules again, having just made changes? Their 4 weeks of school holidays starts today I believe.
