Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

covid restrictions in whistler for under 12's from UK

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We are hoping to go to whistler from the UK in April '22. two vaccinated adults, one fully vaccinated 13 year old and an unvaccinated 11year old ( no vaccines available for under 12s yet in the UK). Anyone done this yet?
Canadian government website suggests very restrictive conditions for unvaccinated over 5 years olds - no public transport ( does a gondola count?), not attending 'crowded' settings indoor or outdoor (does a restaurant count?). Any first hand experiences would be helpful.

I realise things may have changed by April, but just wondering what it is like on the ground there at the moment.

Cheers

Not particularly restrictive for unvaccinated under 12s, even though over 5s are eligible for vaccination here. Though that is only once you are here and have done the 14 day more-or-less quarantine (it applies to Canadians too, and we abandoned our travel plans that involved driving through the US from BC to get to another part of BC on this basis)

There was a discussion on this exact topic on another thread a few weeks back.
Imho a gondola is public transport (the province framed the rules that way), and a restaurant is a crowded place.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

In exact same predicament - is it remotely worthwhile considering a trip to Whistler from the UK with a teen (double jabbed) and another younger kid who has not been jabbed (given they aren’t vaccinating younger kids in the UK) - given we are only planning a 7 day trip?
