Does anybody know the rules on skiing with a Young person next year in Italy. Both my husband and I are double jabbed but my daughter who is 16 has only had one. So wondered if she will she be able to get a ski pass under the new green card system . Thanks

@carla4221, from what I read on the gov.uk Italy seems to be OK, and is more concerned with parental status with the under 18s

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Though to be fair - it’s still a bit ambiguous. The sudtirol website for example https://www.suedtirol.info/en/information/coronavirus states that visitors must have a green pass to use ski lifts , but then refers to it as the EU Covid 19 certificate (which would require 2 jabs or a recent test). I’ve emailed them to clarify, as it may just be the marketing department not understanding the distinction, but not had a response as yet.
I’m assuming/gambling that whoever is checking will just be pointing their VerificaC19 app at whatever qr code you present, and that at least for my sons shows a blue tick and the statement ‘valid in Italy only’ which I’m hoping suffices. Worst case it’s a test every couple of days, which would be a PITA, but doable.
Edit - though I asked the same question to https://www.dolomitisuperski.com/en and they seem to have now updated it to just refer to The Green pass - I’ve asked them again to reconfirm.

And here’s what I’ve just got back, confirming the green pass (for the dolomites at least)
Dear <pejoli>
Thank you for your kind request and your interest in our city. Hereby I kindly inform you that for using the ski lifts it is required the Green Pass, that you have automatically after the first vaccination.
More information are available on the following webpage https://www.suedtirol.info/en/information/coronavirus/green-pass

Ah Thankyou so much it is so confusing. My daughter tested positive last Friday and failed her fit to fly. So now I think she would be allowed under the 180 day certificate. We are booked for February half term so fingers crossed it all makes more sense by then.

That may be the tricky bit, not yet heard of a way to get a UK recovered under 16 a QR code to 'prove' it.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Have you downloaded the NHS app onto her phone and set her up? https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/
(needs NHS number and a few ID checks)
Once approved - can she download a covid travel pass ? Our 14 year old currently cant get it (not available for under16's).
If she can - download and scan the QR code with the VerificaC19 app - in theory - one jab should give you the green tick... let us know?

We face having to test my daughter in resort every 48 hrs to get a green pass for her.
We did try an antigen kit yesterday from C19testing but it does not enable you to get the EU green pass so only really useful for entry to Italy..

Still waiting for details on what the situation will be in Selva - I am assuming they will have a pop up centre and not have to rely on the tiny pharmacy... we have until about 20th Nov to make a final decision to go or delay (again)

She is not 16 till beginning of December but will ask her to try to download it and keep you informed

You know it makes sense.

We are due to go to Italy in half term too, but mine will be 15, so I'm assuming we'll need to get regular tests before and during the week

Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

Slightly off piste.
Swiss app doesnt recognise my 16 YO twins, single vaxxed.
Reads all the details, shows as not valid.
Tearing my hair out re December trip!!
I think we can get them into the country, but no bars or restuarants (self catering so no biggie)
Anyone know the definitive answer??

Actually one jab gives you a *blue* tick (it says ‘valid in Italy only’). 2nd jab gives you the full green tick and ‘valid in Italy and Europe’.
For whatever reason if you actually have a second jab 2/2 qr code, it won’t work on the 1/2 qr code
