There was a thread about shipping costs from the UK and the poster said they were Romp ski's. I'd never heard of them so googled and it seems they do custom made skis!
I don't think I could ever justify the cost myself but I did wonder are there are other custom made ski manufacturers? Any in Europe? Anyone ever done this?
Think it must be very niche....

There are at least a lot of "custom" snowboard manufacturers, however in truth they're really just small manufacturers
with a range of "stock" products which they'll customize if you insist.
The problem is that without riding the things, you don't actually know how to do the customization,
and most people can't afford to pay for a board which they test ride and then decide isn't customized correctly.
Hence it doesn't really make sense, other than from a marketing perspective.
With snowboards at least , you're better off finding a model with a range of sizes and trying at least three of them before spending any money.
Lib Tech will ship as many as 13 different size/width variants of a model for this reason.

@philwig, yeah got the impression/understanding.
For me the range of off the shelf is probably sufficient but I was intrigued by the idea.

Website doesn't say as such but as philwig points out I guess any small or handmade manufacturer could do custom.

There are many of us who make small specialist range of skis - But true custom is rare. I think Peter at Rabbit on the Roof will make to a certain extent, or Wagner in the USA.
The problem with a real custom ski is most people do not know what they need, only what they think they want. The two are generaly not the same.
I have made a few custom skis - only one pair actually skied they way they thought (although I don't think he could tell the difference). Just the ammount of comunication needed with someone, unless they come to you with an actual diagram, its just not worth it.
If anyone is offering full custom skis for under €2500 either they don't realy know what they are doing or it aint full custom. And at that price unless you have a very automated workshop you are realy putting in the hours for too cheap.

Douk are a UK company that do custom boards and skis. About £700-800 for custom shape and graphics. About £200 less if you use one of their standard models and just do your own graphics. Have ridden a couple of their boards and was impressed.
I tend to agree with @philwig that you would need to do numerous prototypes to get it right, and even then you probably end up with a shape not too dissimilar to something already out there on the market. I guess where it could work is if you have a discontinued ski you love and they can copy it.

I had a day on a pair of the Sneachda from https://www.lonelymountain.ski/ and they really were both wonderful to ski on and beautiful to look at. Custom ? Not quite but certainly hand made and very well done for it.

He makes some wonderfull skis.
Jaime and his dad came to see me years ago (I think it was just after I had wone the ISPO award) with the prototype pair he had made as a (if memmory serves) a collage project. He asked the sort of questions only someone who had put a lot of thought into why his own creation wasn't perfect would ask. And his first hand hewn pair were almost perfect, just he didn't thinks so. Yes there was a slight bow accross the width of the ski, one edge was a slightly different curve to the other. And these were made (again if memory serves) with no jig or tooling to speak of. A few min work on an old school base grinder and they went from art to skiable proof of concept, I belive ski shops were either scared of them or didn't know how to fix errors with their fancy computerised machine.
After me was Hanno of Earlybird skis winning the Environmental award at ISPO , then Jaime.

Jonno at Ronin skis in Chamonix also does a course where you can custom build your own ski. Tres cher, obviously but I've demo'd his Ronin 108 and its a very very good ski.

Or is it still there and I'm just missing it?

Thx. It's there now, but I swear when I went looking for it it didn't appear on either the snowHeads front page, nor in my list of 'your posts', I was looking for it with a shipping title too, so that's not the problem.
You found it easily enough though.
