Perhaps the originator of the thread @vinf could edit the title, since Italy is definitely not opening 18th Jan, the earliest date is now 15th Feb and there are doubts whether the ski resorts will open at all this season.  (@vinf, if you go to edit your your first post by clicking on the scissors icon it also shows the thread title which can be edited)
