First Galibier of 2019 and was tough, as we'd had massive strong winds scouring the slopes leaving icy hardpack in places, but with four legs and claws dogs have no problems, well at least so I thought, for me, I had to use ski crampons.
We made it the Col for the inevitable pose picture(s)
And then the descent, when you're climbing up you're on the lookout for the best lines that might have pockets of windblown powder so you never (normally) take the route you climbed up.
From the Col it's a short very steep section and was a mixture of windblown powder and slab and hard ice pack quite technical skiing, out of the corner of my eye I could see dogs fighting through the windblown slab, I did a few more careful turns to turn round and see Kiki flying down the slope, still on all four legs but she was totally out of control and just could not stop, she must have come out of the deep snow, hit the hardpack and just sped up, I was a tad concerned at the time, but now it was one of the funniest things I've seen for a long time.

Aw good looking pooches; especially the fluffy one. Great post. Ours is a rescue street dog from Romania and is just so happy with the cold we have here at the mo in the UK. She’s rolling about on her back in the frost.

@Cheesie168, depends on the gradient and snowpack, light powder and steep they just crash on down, when it's a tad heavy windbown they use the tracks, though sometimes they will cut the bend as you can just about make out in the photo above and the vid below.

They were on their Wednesday regular outing, this time to the Quermoz in the Beaufortain. Poor dears are so shaken they've not put the trip report up on their website.
