Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

WARNING - Easyjet ski/board carriage

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
nasty easyjet bloke at check in at Geneva (way back from ESOB) said the ski carriage is simply that only for skis, it does not include anything else in your bag. I pointed out i had a board at which point made him even more "pain in the butt mode". He then said "it can't be a snowboard in there it weighs 18kg", i pointed out it was boots, helmet, bindings etc. I said i had never experienced this before but he had none of it, he said he was always charging excess baggage for "extras" carried in ski/board bags.

Apparently it is "easyjet policy that the ski carriage is for only 1 board or 1 set of skis - no poles, bindings, boots etc can be carried in the bag and must be paid for as excess baggage"..................i laughed and walked off. Thankfully my bags did turn up, but a letter may be following...............

Dan, I had no problem, I checked my baggage with a woman who only asked me if I had paid the extra, I said Yes and she did not even ask for prove, They then took my ski bag & boot bag with no hassle.

This looks like it's a personal thing and not an airport thing.

It's not painting a good picture of Easyjet if it all depends on if the check person had a good drive into work that day.

It wasn't a troublefree week with Easyjet at all. EMA had swapped the flight numbers between our 1300 and the 1800 flight around which caused a bit of head scratching at the ski check-in, apparantly the numbers were all correct but the computer screens were wrong. The self service machine was also having a bad day, it swallowed my boarding card and only printed one bag tag but that was easily sorted, they just did it the old fashioned way at the desk. Coming back the check-in bod wanted proof I'd paid for ski carriage, after a bit of paper shuffling he was OK.

Happy happy Geneva, actually it's just the airpot not the airline but obviously with a budget airline you're more likely to be butting up against the regulations but I've had run ins when travelling with Swiss Air when it existed it's original non bankrupt form. They complained about me being late when I was at the gate 15 mins before take off, sure eveyone else had boarded, I had got caught up at security having to take belt and shoes off (this was c.'97/9Cool, the irony being as I pointed out that on this long weekend they had been nearly 3 hours late taking off from LHR, they couldn't give a jot "it says in ze rules"....... I actually quite like Geneva sure it's a bit old and the food court sucks but it's tidy easy to navigate and quick to get through all great features in an airport in my book as I don't view them as giant fun shopping centres (T3 at LHR truly sucks) but as I said in my original post they can be complete rule book Nazis.

You can usually rely on the Swiss to quote "ze rules" and to attempt to lighten your wallet. Its in their nature, after all it is the money capitol of the World. Little Angel
