Poster: A snowHead

This has got to be the best thing ever. Forget about the video capture. It's a pet dog/pigeon that doesn't poo or need feeding.
If they do a version with built in MP3 player and speakers that plays the ski sunday music as it follows you down the slopes then I'm selling my kids and getting one.

I think that personal drones will very quickly fall into the same category as mobile phone use in cinemas. Those that use smartphones in cinemas don't see why they shouldn't use them, no matter how much they annoy, and disrupt the experience for everyone else. I can foresee 20 people skiing/boarding on a piste followed by their drone, watching the drone rather than where they are going, and crashing into each other. It will be fun watching the piste patrol confiscating the footage of the all the drones in the event of a crash on the piste.
Like everything else these days (Smart phones, e-Bikes etc) drones will be hacked and deviated from their original purpose, or a jammer will be invented to cause them to crash. You can already buy mobile signal jammers, so in the future maybe you could ski down the piste and cause all the drones to fall out of the sky.
Hopefully resorts will restrict personal drones to certain pistes, otherwise every time you set off, not only will you have to check for skiers/boarders above/below you, but drones in the sky as well.

I think that it is more likely that 'resorts' will provide areas where they can sell drones for hire on a run by run basis and make money out of it.

This. No way anyone wants punters flying them into chairlift mechanisms and crashing onto slopes as batteries fail. The taunt factor of just ignoring the rules may lead to short term issues however.
