Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Do climbers have particular problems getting up?

I can imagine that conversation with my doc. "Hello there, wondering if you can prescribe me some viagra....no, I know I haven't got a pint. It's for my holidays, you see..."

Aaaargh, help me everyone. Vacillating between Val Cenis Vanoise (concerned a bit about snow, everything else looks great...), Flaine (lessons only available for kids over lunchtime, very much not ideal); Peisey Vallandry (might be soggy? not sure and bloody expensive lift pass)....L2A (ditto about the lift pass).

And do we book now or wait till nearer the time? I am worried the private instruction we need for our kids (for boring longwinded reasons) might be booked out...

First world problem, I know, but it does my head in all this trying to arrange holidays.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Rule out L2A, it's a marmite resort anyway but home runs not good for your kids and the town isn't all that.

Flaine.. yep, lunchtime lessons no good - ditch.

Vallandry, yep, lift pass ££££.

Looks like you are going to Val Cenis, my friend.

Personally I would batten down the tuition and the rest now. There will be snow.

Do anatomical words get edited out on here as I definitely didn't type 'pint' in my comment about viagra Embarassed

Courchevel Le Praz 1300 metres and a choice of two fast lifts to get you right in the thick of it - sorted!!!

That was going to be my suggestion too

3V lift passes and eating out costs are a bit beyond us unfortunately, and the tuition seems £££. In Val Cenis the kids get free passes and I'm finding it hard to match that anywhere else.

robertsnerys, if it's just about sleeping at altitude, and no other problems, I highly recommend getting a prescription from your GP. It took me years to realize that it was the altitude (even relatively low) keeping me awake, and I would just get more and more tired as the week went on. I did some research, and another snowHead who is an anaesthetist gave some advice, and now before every holiday I ask my GP (via phone) for a week's worth of Zolpidem. I only take half the recommended dose each night, but it's enough to work without any grogginess in the morning.
