Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I acutally just use skate shoes everywhere though. You don't need anything special - anything that you'd wear on a rainy day in the UK is fine.

I have this type of boots, they are good in snow.

I assumed you were a woman even though "chunky going out boots" could be quite masculine. I wear my work shoes on account of them having nice soft, thick soles. Steel toecaps get a bit chilli though.

Steel toecaps are chilli? you going barefoot in those??

That happens me too, more often than I would like to confess to. Toofy Grin
Still you can live as some say without boots in a resort, but if it snows and the paths aren't cleared , you need something with waterproof coating, and warm, damp or downright wet feet are no fun. High heels in a resort are asking for trouble, so grips, and waterproof are needed,. I suppose iits like asking do I need ski glasses or will my sunglasses do? you can manage with sunglasses, but you really need something more suitable for the conditions. Lots of folks said you don't need them, but if the weather is on the snowy side , you will be far happier to have a pair of waterproof ,grippy , warm, footwear. They don't need to be official snow boots, anything that is warm, grippy, and waterproof will do. Even plain mucker boots or wolfie boots will be fine.

If you do decide to buy new boots concider getting ones with a zip rather than two meters of boot lace. Laces can become very frustrating in a crowded boot room. Chunky going out boots sound about right though.

Snowboots lovely but walking shoes/boots perfectly adequate in almost all circumstances and if you already have them you dont need to spend any more money.

@biddpyat, plenty in eBay in various colours sizes. Mine are the usa team ones for Sochi Winter Olympics. Deffo the most comfy boots I gave worn. As well as the laces there is a zip on opposite side.
