I'm having trouble with this game, i've downloaded it and "updated" it but it refuses to load citing that it "can't load the texture" or words to that effect, have any of you had this problem and over come it??
please help, i feel as if i'm missing out...

I have just searched for the orf ski 2005 download and found it ,this has bormio as the course which is very steep it looks and plays as good as the new one it just gives you a nice change of course.

mwareing, I had the same problem and solved it by downloading a new driver for my graphics card. Check out you pc spec and find the manufacturer and 'model' of your grahics card. Then via a search engine such as google locate the manufacturers website. Their downloads page will have details of updated drivers for your card. Ensure that you select the appropriate one and hopefully your problem will be solved. Ensure that you create a 'restore point' prior to installing new driver. You should be offered a 'roll back driver' option in XP but it is safer I believe to create a restore point too.

wow i have just found kitzbuehel as well, when you have got bormio go to start then programs then find the ski game and go to its homepage you will see very briefly the 05 download page but it quickly changes to the 06 homepage so when you see the 05 homepage click to download k/buehel there you go folks

andyarmitage, when i install it, it just sits there and doesn't finish installing.....................i'm tempeted to hit the "Beenden" button but according to babelfish translation this aint going to help???????????

Dan, it installed perfectly for me and k/buhel which by the way is a very tough course really narrow and sooooo fast

managed to get under 2mins now, seems to hold speed better in the corners if you hold "ctrl" and stand up rather than crouch???? Keep forgetting to knock off some speed before going over the jump that goes straight into a tight left.........normally "opps there's the crash barrier again!"
Not sure i can knock another 50 seconds off though to get nearlampbus, or are they all playing a different course??

Dan, do you mean hold the ctrl key down and just let go of the up arrow? Have to try that later! I think lampbus meant 2:05, not 1:05 as the current leader in the world is 1:58 something I think. If you're under 2 mins on the ischgl course, you're doing bloody well...
Don't know what jump to a tight left you mean though... there's a jump to a tight right in a couple of places, but can't think of the left hand one?

Ischgl are just the sponsor: it is actually the Saslonch downhill course in Groden (Val Gardena). If you get the quickest time you win a holiday in Ischgl (or something) .... I think....

carled, the ice perv, I'm doing the Bormino course that andyarmitage gave the link to up above. It has a nasty second jump into an immediate left turn which you need to slow down at, not my style at all............well slow down, depends if you are carrying speed in excess of 100 into it i guess 
carled, basically go into the tuck when possible, but in the corners come out of the tuck (unless its a gental corner) and press ctrl while turning. I don't understand the german so i just experimented with it and it seems to work and the turns are more controlled than skidy so you loose less time.
I'm in training mode, any idea how you see what the decent times are for the course???

No idea, but the '05 courses (Bormio & Kitz) seem a lot harder than Groden ('06 version). How much of that is the runs themselves, and how much is the seemingly more "twitchy" '05 software is the question. When & if they release the remaining '06 software (Bormio, Wengen, Kitz) then we should know.
