 Poster: A snowHead

I have a very much loved but on their last legs pair of K2 Public Enemies which I've really enjoyed over the last 7 years but they need to be replaced. The PEs were great because they can go anywhere, a bit flappy on piste and just ok in the soft stuff but great fun. I would like something with the same type of feel but no idea what is comparable in the current market. Happy to go and test but I don't really know what should be on the short list. Any ideas?

Not an expert at all but how about Volkl Bridge, might be a bit stiffer?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Depends which way your bias is (piste vs off) but loving my Soul 7s.

As above really, depends on your piste/off-piste bias. I found Whitedot Ones pretty good for as much as a 50-50; did everything I needed and more.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

+1 for Soul 7. Rossi sell them as 80/20 off/on piste, but IMHO they are 50/50. Good carvers, lively and quicker edge to edge than such wide skis deserve to be. Only downside is that they are a bit light for crud and probably not stiff enough for a super expert looking to ski pistes super fast.

From recent observation i'd say demo Soul 7s and Blizzard Bonafides as benchmark skis in the bracket then if you like something better you're in gravy. Assuming as a PE skier your interpretation of All mountain us not a slightly wider piste ski (in which case stuff like a Voelkl RTM or Rossi Experience might be relevant).

blazzar, All I can suggest is that whatever you are thinking of buying - try them out first either on a test day or hiring. There's no substitute for your own practical experience.

Thanks guys, will see what I can get hold of to demo. I am 80/20 on/off, but I like to pop on a few features here and there, not full park but still want to have a little fun. Like the look of the Soul 7s but they may be a touch wider than I am used (the PEs are 85).

Do try the Soul 7s. don't be put off by their width. I have skied narrower skis that felt wider.
