Poster: A snowHead
|
Just come back from Val Thorens where the guide I was skiing with was raving about these skis. The are fairly narrow at 90mm, by today's standards anyway. I tried to find a demo but none of the shops had those (or anything else by BC). According to the guide every guide and his dog are skiing them in Chamonix. They are supposed to be great everywhere on the mountain. The guide was a really nice guy and who I am to doubt him but he is sponsored by BC and does not pay for his skis. Are these skis really that good?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I skied the slightly bigger Black Crows Corvus (185) for most of last season and it's a great ski. Not tried the Orb but I'd reckon it'll be pretty good.

snowman, seen quite a few pairs underneath guides. Geometry looks nice. Great flouro yellow graphics. Worth buying them just for that.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The all fluoro yellow ones are the lightweight 'Freebird' version of the same ski.

yeah black crows and whitedot seem to be the popular (brit) skis in cham. i've been told that black crows are awesome, but then that was by a mate who works for them so probably not the best opinion to go by!

eddiethebus, meh, plenty of Black Crows about these parts too. Look like very nice skis, though I haven't skied them myself.
