Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

PM Gear Bro rocker carbonlite or Volkl Nunataq??

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This is maybe a little cheeky as one of the forum users is offering the former, but I am totally stumped and need external opinions!!

First off I weigh about 12.5 stone and ski fairly aggresively. Goal is a descent orientated backcountry ski for touring in Austria (and hopefully once West coast US), easy turn initiation is important as well as straight line stability... both will be mounted with Dynafit FTs, and using Dynafit Mercury boots, both weigh in at around 3800g for the pair and both are sexy as fck...

So it is a toss up between a hugely (8.5 cm after 39cm) tip rockered Bro, with 99mm underfoot made of carbon and glass etc. stiffer, maybe more sensible

or the fully (but only slightly) rockered Volkl Nunataq, 107mm underfoot, a little softer but possible more playful...

To make things a tougher the Bro is 200 Euros more expensive (which needs to be taken into account) !

Help please

We carry Nunataq, hard to beat weight; dimensions ski ability IMO.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

dulcamara, I've fondled the Voelkl in a shop, was very impressed, while it may be softer it's not a noodle.

However, I ended up with a pair of DOWN CD7's, which have been fantastic, also 3800g for the pair, 110 underfoot, flat camber with tip/tail rocker (and taper) great build quality (made in the same factory as Whitedot). I wanted something that skied as similarly to my Bibby Pros on the down as possible, but lighter and narrower for the up, and they do just that. Also available for a very good price, and they should be announcing their pre-season sale prices shortly.

If you pm me your email I can send you the specs sheet (not 'officially' released yet), or get in touch with Gregor directly (email address on their site), who's really helpful.
