I had merino base layers on today, to go for an Old Folks bike ride. I was cosy warm but nobody saw them - just as well as they are Really Boring and the elastic has gone on the waist of the grey long johns, which I must have had for 20 years. Might be in the market for some NB ones.

I assume the sign up is only in the short term until products are listed. Nice to see progress with your new business though.

Just a bit of advice for your website. I always ignore any site that requests my email details before I can see any of the products. |
One of the reasons I have an email address specifically for dumping stuff like that. Good ol' Barry Fullalove has signed up to many a newsletter and logged in to plenty of public wifis. On the rare occasion I need to log in to Barry's email account, the inbox is filled with spammy nonesense.

That's a good idea. I wonder how many email addresses there are for similar purposes?

@brianatab, millions. For example, try

Oooh I do love non boring baselayers. Sweaty Betty, Snow Finel and Perfect Moment do nice ones. I possess an all in one for the sole purpose of post ski lounging

Kari Traa have fun designs in merino - the tops are great for hiking too. Sold my Sweaty Betty ones on Vinted as now prefer merino - have a few from Icebreaker but notice I have to darn a few holes every now and then.

Tried some yak/merino base layers from Kora recently. Reputed to not be itchy. Wore them for about ten seconds; too itchy (and pretty spendy as well). Give me boring any day.

Apologies for not circling back sooner but it has been a bit hectic , but I hate those posts that don't close the loop ( ask opinions / a favour then don't ever tell the end off the story. the site is live and sales have started. We plan to ramp up things now we know that everything works fine

[quote="Gored"]I have baselayers with cannabis leaves printed all over it.
Did I buy it because of the print? No.
I bought it because it was cheap for the quality.
Where did you get those from? They’d be perfect for Glastonbury
EDIT. Just noticed the date on this. Sorry for reviving.

I think there is definitely a market for interesting/ fun patterned base layers like the ones sweaty betty do, but perhaps a little cheaper? Good as presents for skiers in your life young and old .

I wish you luck, but the price immediately put us both of. 5 times as much as Bawbags and 50% more than Kari Tra.

Seven products of which six are tops at £130? And they are 70% polyester?
You’ve really got to hope people like the designs, a lot!!!

Thank you for bringing up the point about our pricing. We understand that it may seem high compared to larger brands, but there are several reasons behind it.
Currently, we're producing on a smaller scale, and as we grow and increase volume, we’re working to bring those prices down. However, we made the deliberate choice to manufacture in Europe to reduce our carbon footprint and to ensure that our production process is as sustainable as possible.
We’re also committed to using ethically sourced materials, including recycled polyester. Our fabric blend is designed for both performance and comfort, with the merino wool positioned to feel soft on the skin and the recycled polyester providing durability where needed. It’s not your typical 30/70 mix but a blend that puts sustainability and quality first. We know that this approach isn't for everyone, but at Wild Caper, we’re passionate about protecting our planet, and unfortunately, that commitment does come at a cost.
We appreciate your feedback and are always open to improving where we can.

@CrazyGoat, nobody cares *why* they are more expensive. If bottom line is too expensive people won't buy. Even more so when you are selling a product aimed more at novelty than performance. For the price 70% polyester seems criminal. As said above people would have to really love your designs - but I suspect most people are happy to go with something plain for half the price when it's something hidden under clothes 90%+ of the time anyway.
