Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Venice airport to Corvara, Dolomites

Expanding this discussion to Verona Airport as that’ll be us in January, car rental appears great value on holidayautos, £250 for a VW Golf or equivalent for 9 days. Subject to the winter tyres add on. Just two of us on the trip so a Golf will be fine, some luggage can go on the rear seats.

I can see why folk opt to drive instead of spending £700+ on taxi transfers.

In 2022 I paid Holiday Autos £137.38 for a VW Golf for a week from Locauto at Verona airport and actually got a lovely black mk8 with a 2.0 TDI engine and winter tyres for free! Cool

So this year's prices are looking expensive to me!! Shocked

BTW, we got 4 of us (2 kids) plus luggage plus skis plus shopping in the Golf!! Laughing Laughing

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Plenty of smaller firms won't release the rented car at the airport if you won't pay their extra insurance, regardless if you are interested or not or if you already paid for it within Holiday Autos' booking, according to Trip Advisor's forums

I always get excess cover from a third party. Never had an issue refusing the extra insurances with Locauto.

That's why I'm wary of going with a firm I've never heard of.

I used Italy Car Rent for a long weekend trip in February - picked up at Venice airport and drove to Cortina and back. They were absolutely fine

Travelling in December and booked a car with Alamo, i’m thinking of rebooking with Locauto. They are quoting £120 for four days -no options of snow tyres though!
