While it is usually deserted, I have seen a real scrum to get the bus back - don't know if there had been some interruption to bus service and so there were two busloads of people trying to get on the one bus, or what. Anyway. we managed to get onboard, but not by adopting normal Brit queue techniques.

Have managed to get a seat most times, both ways.
The bus from Alpe di Siusi back to the Sella Ronda was interesting, not only in terms of the drive thru the forest, but the complete carnage at loading. Honestly have no idea how we all got on.

As others have said, follow the signs and you cant go wrong. Lovely region with fantastic scenery and food

albob, - yes the food at Rifugio Averau is some of the tastiest you will encounter as well as being slightly different from anywhere else I've eaten - I had a very simple tomato gnocchi with peccorino shavings - perfect mix of flavours. Lots of Italians and regulars in there............
