Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Davos - Parsenn Derby 2013

Some may have read our Inferno reports... So here we are in Davos for race #3 in the Super Vier series of "Volksabfarhts" - literally "People's Downhills".

So, no disrespect intended, while the Hexe and the Inferno may have their "comedy" elements, this one is really quite serious. Really, really quite serious.

Other than the comedy man made jump 1/3 of the way down.

Anyway, team race cancelled due to too much of the wrong kind of snow yesterday and the wheels slightly fell off last night after Scotland's performance vs. Wales so waiting, slightly dusty, for news from the O.K.

More to follow...

Well, Sunday dawned clear, cold and bright. With some trepidation we three gentlemen were pleased at no news from the O.K. and headed up the hill with starts programmed around 10h30.

A swift Red Bull and some strange Italian power drink and we were ready for the off.

Two very unassuming gates lead into a very sharp right turn and a scary tuck down a rather steep face with a little riser in the middle. Inconveniences included skiing through a narrow bridge, various rollers and jumps, including the "assisted" one and a very, very tight sequence of gates near the finish line. Which was, naturally, a jump itself.

We were all pleased to make it down safely, and all felt we should have been faster. That's pretty much how we like it.

Davos was very friendly and welcoming, Johann at the Alpenrose was charming and we made some new Swiss and Italian friends. Can definitely recommend the pizza Montagnard at "Der Pate" - so good we had to eat there twice. Hotel Montana bar was a fine location to watch the rugby, marred only by the Scots' performance. And the team at the Montana Stubli liked our catsuits - a bonus.
