Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have a pair of Head XRC 800i skis on which I have skied for about 100 days over the past 6 years. I really enjoy skiing on them. I'm not so keen on carrying them as they weigh a ton (each). They have always had Tyrolia SP100 rental bindings which have been fine but I now notice they are are slightly wobbly. They still work OK in that they don't release when they shouldn't and do release when they should but I feel some new Railflex or Powerrail bindings would improve the skiing experience.
Is it possible and is it worth replacing the bindings?

I wouldn't waste time or money replacing the bindings only. I'd get new skis as well. After 6 years and 100 days you'll probably notice the benefit of a newer pair with more life in them.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the reply. I have seen RFD11 bindings available for USD120 (plus shipping), so I could probably swap the bindings for under £100. Would I notice the difference?
New skis is a nice idea and I would probably go for something a little different and keep the XRC's in reserve. The new Head 85 Rev looks nice but at £500 that is really a different topic.
