Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How long since the last snowfall was that trip?

yariv_har, far too long, try and get it down to around sub 5mins if you want the "public" to watch it - it's a great film for your group to watch as s souvenir, but does get a little frustrating watching people on the traverse again and again, and worse still not skiing Bannane and Les Frieux that well !

But looks like you had great conditions though!

La Grave isn't La Grave without tree stumps and rocks on the traverse wink
I actually quite enjoyed it despite it being on the long side. Nice spotting familiar lines

You had great conditions, good light and a good camera. Your transitions were good, the skiers very capable and you have a good eye. My suggestions for improvement would be:

1) decide who you are making the movie for. A record of your trip is different from a movie for general viewing. The latter needs to be much shorter.
2) try making your movie the length of one track of music. It will make you be brutal about the relevance of a particular clip and you will only use the very best.
3) try to get different perspectives - side on, front on, back static, following to give variety, although that can come at sacrificing a great line or the patience of your friends
4) remember to take lots of rushes - shots of where you are to add atmosphere and help with the story
5) choice of music. Your viewers will have watched pro-videos. To use hard-core music you need hard-core action. Choose music that fits the action, not just your favourite.

Hope this helps and have fun with it. It's a great way to show a trip and fun to put together.

Wow, lucky you: I can't remember any snow that good the last few times I visited. In fact the last time we mostly went with our guide to Serre Chevalier and then climbed about a vertical kilometre to get unskied snow.

Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

http://youtube.com/v/AI1HvVh8Cn4 A video filmed by a Spanish friend on a Grenoble University ski trip on 26th March to arguably the coolest village, including descents of Le Patou et la Banane couloirs. First time there, with powder on the glacier and well skied out snow in the couloirs and Vallons. Surprised how quiet it was and the friendly attitude of everyone.
