Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have the first edition. Quite useful once you get used to the American use of English - e.g. I'm not sure that "spastic skier" would be in common usage over here Puzzled

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Overall, it's a very good book.

It even talks about "Outside Ski Dominance"..................

From an American book? How refreshing!

Yeah, I bought this recently. His use of English is slightly curious, as was already pointed out (there is at least one "did I just read that?" moment) but aside from the fairly thorough technique sections it also has a handy section on equipment - covering alignment/stance issues/basic tuning etc. Lots of things explained from first principles in a pretty cogent manner - money well spent.

It's the only ski technique book I own, but it makes sense and is a fairly easy read. I think you'll like it.

I bought it last year, and know it inside out thanks to my crash on day one of my last ski trip! Useful stuff in there, I refer to it every now and again.

I received it as a present last Xmas and was engrossed in it for weeks. Everything's meticulously explained and it's easy enough to ignore the Americanisms. Period...

It arrived yesterday. Chock full of drills - relevant info on equipment not a total history of the ski like many books & no tedious beginner stuff so pretty good. No big air/jibbing/cliff section though which I thought was an essential part of the modern skier's armoury wink
