Poster: A snowHead

Can anyone recommend a physio (for knees!) in or near Shrewsbury? I'd prefer to go to a recommended practitioner rather than put a pin in a list - if its possible!!
No diagnosis of knee problem - the doc in La Plagne two seasons ago told me to wear a light knee support and that my right knee would become as bad as my left.
It isn't dreadful but has slowed down my progress in skiing (partly due to me worrying about it more than it hurting - although soft sticky/slushy snow does 'pull' the ligament
The issue is a pulled ligament behind the knee cap. Like I said, no actual diagnosis but I have got knee issues from an injury twenty years ago (no treatment, just rest) and lack of fitness. I plan to hit the gym this summer as I really need to shift the excess weight (lost a dress size this winter, one and a half to go!) and get fit enough to improve my skiing to the standard I want to get to
So, any recommendation?
Cheers

Try Robert Booth - he has a private practice at his house just outside Shrewsbury. Don't think he specialises particularly in knees but he helped fix my hamstrings a number of years ago. If you google him you should find his contact details.

chaletgirl, Check out the guys at http://www.lilleshall.com/ up at the National Sports Center there.
It's also the PFA rehab center so specialise in rehabbing sports injuries. Phil Newton there guided my ACL rehab. Not expensive either and about 30 mins from Shrewsbury.

AndAnotherThing.., thanx loads too.
I'm not getting to Shrewsbury for another week or so. But will be there for the summer (well, near Crew Green, so just about in Wales!). Had a look at the website and my friends that I'm with this weekend have used them!! Will give them a shout too when I get to my summer home!!

Will definitely have a look. I really need to spend some time on a slope on a board this summer - I can just about do turns and have proved it doesn't hurt my knee!! So whilst I want to stay skiing, I need to learn to board as 'back up' (and cos it looks amazing for off piste!!) Good to know it is quiet for the summer!!

Long term, a plate from ankle to big toe. 3 month recovery. Season 2014/15 is probably out

That sounds very nasty. Sympathies. I think I'd seek at least one second opinion and have a good go with the best possible orthotics, physio, exercise and losing weight before I thought about a plate from ankle to big toe.
