Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are here any German native speakers? Help me out with Austrian hotels's owners.

Hi
I'm trying to make a downpayment to a hotel in Austria but I have a failure communication with a hotel's owner. He\she doesn't speak English so I try to use an online translator to translate English to German. I need to know the first name and surname of the account holder and that should be only one person, as I understand they send me names of two people for some reason "Tobias u. Astrid Fankhauser"="Tobias and Astrid Fankhauser" am I right? There is a full text below, the first one is a latter from the hotel

Hello
1) Can you write your name and surname for bank transfer?
2) Do you have a paypal account(www.paypal.com) or a moneybookers account(www.moneybookers.com)? It's a cheaper way to transfer money than a bank transfer.
Thanks

He´llo,
our name of the bank is: BTV Mayrhofen

Hallo
Tobias Fankhauser und Astrid Fankhauser sind zwei verschiedene Personen? Ich war in einer Bank, sie sagen, es sollte nur eine Vor-und Nachnamen, um eine Zahlung zu leisten sein.

MaxNevermind,

When making an IBAN (International Bank Transfer) within the euro zone you only really need the IBAN number and the sort code 'BIC/SWIFT'.
This is enough info for the account to ve debited.

But yep, you have the name correct as:
Tobias u. Astrid Fankhauser

And the business name is:
Forellenhof Linde

But all these are just added extras when making a payment by IBAN.

Don't expect the hotel to accept any other form of payment other than that or cash.

Have a great holiday wink

However, could you tell me what is a first name and what is a surname in this:"Tobias u. Astrid Fankhauser"? I must have them separately to make a payment, my bank demands this. I'm used that names and surnames are just two words like George - Name Bush - Surname, not three of them and with some "u." in the middle.

You need to Login to know who's really who.

The "u" is short for "und", so that translates as "Tobias and Astrid Frankhauser" (prob as in "Mr and Mrs Frankhauser"), so the surname is Frankhauser and his first name is Tobias (and hers is Astrid). Good luck!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It is obviously a joint account.

If your bank demands that you can only pay into accounts with a single name, then you probably need to change your bank to one which has a tiny bit of a clue. Even a demand that you pay to a "first name surname" type of account is ridiculous, since it could just as easily have been an account in the name of the hotel.
