Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Geneva to Albertville; best travel method?

 Poster: A snowHead

Got to get from Geneva to Albertville on a as yet undisclosed date in the next 2 weeks ( or possibly from Chambery if I am lucky ) to pick up my car from the repairers. What`s the best method, cost wise. I see that the train is a bit complicated, and private hire is too expensive. I would appreciate advice from anyone who has bused it, or good value shared transfers, if they stop at Albertville. Thanks.

cstreat, E mail www.ski4funtransfers.co.uk you never know as it's the busiest time of year they may have a spare seat on one of their vans. Very Happy
Particularly if you are not to fussy about times.

cstreat, I discovered to my astonishment recently that there are now no regular buses (altibus etc) from Geneva to Albertville. A small transfer company which might make a special stop is probably your best bet. If all else fails, you'll presumably be travelling very light, you could get a bus to Megeve (Borini) and hitch a lift through the Arly Gorge/Ugine.

Yes, covoiturage.fr

You may need multiple trips. For example, taking this Saurday as an example, there is nothing from Geneva to Albertville, but at least 4 lifts to Chambery are being offered, and eleven from Chambery to Albertville

hope that helps

Found Aerocar bus service to Chambery from Geneva airport, with a few scheduled departures a day, 31 euros. Car sharing would be great, but is less predictable.

There are definitely buses from Geneva to Annecy. Haven't checked, but there would then almost certainly be a local bus from Annecy to Albertville.
