Morning all,
All booked up and travelling down to Les Menuires on 15/16 Feb. Self Catering and taking alot of the food with us but would like somewhere to do some shopping prior to climbing into the mountains on Saturday morning.
I'm hoping to be around the Albertville/Moutiers area for about 0700 Sat. Any ideas as to what shops will be open at that time of day please?
Thanks in advance.

We always do a search under the supermarket names - Carrefour - Geant- super U etc and it comes up with locations - map- and opening and closing times- even searched products one year to see if they stocked snow chains. Didn't use them that year so checked opening times and took them back on our return !

GaryCantley, you can try this site for opening times http://www.horaires-commerces.fr but I don't think any of them opens that early. I think most of them open at 8:30.
We used to shop at Simply Market just behind the train station.

GaryCantley, it'll probably take a bit longer than usual to get down there, on such a busy weekend, so the Geant in Albertville will probably be open by the time you get there. Every cloud has a silver lining.

No different to taking back something you never used in this country - if we had used them of course we wouldn't have taken them back.

The Geant in Albertville is the largest supermarket in that area, not really very much in Moutiers. MacDonalds will be open at 7am, so you can have a coffee and a petit panois selection while you wait an hour and a half for the Geant to open.

You know it makes sense.

There is a pretty big Carrefour in Moutiers, also a Simply Market and a Lidl. But Geant is in a convenient place as well.

I think if I were in Albertville that early I'd head up the mountain to try to beat the jams - and to hell with the shopping.
