Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Meteo France avalanche bulletin for Friday 1st Feb not issued!! Chamonix.

Meteo France have not issued a bulletin for tomorrow. The general weather forecast is for heavy snow and high winds. The guide at the Chamonix based Avalanche Academy is urging caution and suggest a level of 4 or 3 depending on altitude, the adjacent Swiss area has a warning level of 4 suggested for Saturday. Take care.

They have issued an avalanche warning today, for tomorrow, Saturday.
4/5 or 3/5 below 2000m. For the whole of the Haute Savoie.

Yep, on the Italian side it was level 4 in the report dated Saturday 2 February although lower to the southeast of the Aosta valley and settling to a 3/5 in the next few days. There's a new report out tomorrow, but with this wind blowing outside my shutters tonight they'll be some nasty accumulations and there have already been numbers of spontaneous avalanches.
