Poster: A snowHead

The Michigan Ski Areas Association has quite a bargain for anyone interested in skiing all 24 of its mountains. For $169 (£95) you get a 'White Gold Card' that allows one visit at each ski area during the 2005-6 winter ... plus a free ski tune-up in a ski shop!
This report from OnTheSnow.com.
All 24 resorts are listed in this news release from Michigan Snowsport Industries Association.
Anyone up for this 24-mountain mission?

Bit like the Ski Maurienne Sans Frontieres pass for £50. Seven days, lots of resorts.
Like the tune-up offer - that is value add.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

By all accounts the only one worth going to is Mt Bohemia

And they've got an interesting 1-day seasons pass sale on 03 December for the princely sum of US$99
There was a great article in Ski magazine last winter about this place. Deserted, great off-piste terrain and powder!!

Vertical drop 201 ft (70m) and the longest run 1000ft or 300m?
Our skiers coming from Les Arcs (Aiguelle Rouge to Villaroger drops 2000m vertically) and La Thuille (San Bernado Run 7 is 11,000m long) will have the "back to the future" sensation if they choose to spend the $169 (£95).

Well, you wouldn't find a molehill 201ft high, so I guess that's their justification in calling it a mountain. I live near the highest point in London which is 400ft above Thames level, so it's time to rename it Hampstead Mountain.
What's this about "back to the future" in La Thuile - is this time travel?

Did some extra research on that Bohemia place, and it sounds pretty interesting. Sounds like basically every run is off-piste style - lots of trees, cliffs, etc. It has 900 feet of vertical, whic certainly isn't great, but if it's good snow all the way down (which it should be - they get 270 inches/685 cm per year, which doesn't quite compare with 360 inches at a place like Whistler, for example, but if all of the terrain is gladed, the runs are basically deserted, and the temperatures always very cold through the season, then this could be excellent snow), then it could definitely be alot of fun. And $99 for a seasons pass . . .

Yeah. If your route to/from the States takes you through the Detroit hub it may be worth taking a little detour.
