Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wengen, Murren, Grindlewald

Poster: A snowHead
I know this has probably been covered before but thought I would try and get up to date info. Four of us are thinking of booking a holiday to either Murren, Wengen, or Grindlewald in Feb. We are all experienced skiers and put quite a few miles behind us each day. We also love to Apres ski, and wondered if anybody can fill us in on the bars in the area. Live bands, dancing on tables etc. So hopefully somebody out there will give us a few recommendations, including hotels as we will book with a t/o.
Thanks in anticipation.

xscreamer, I'm not sure you've chosen the right domain for Après.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

LOL I can't answer for Murren or Gindelwald (though Murren being very small will I think be pretty quiet for Apres) Wengen has a few bars but I can't recall anyone ever dancing on tables in any of them, you might occasionally get a live band but generally the whole area is far more oriented to younger families and doesn't tend to have a lot of night life, Wengen even has noise police who patrol at night to ensure your laughter etc does not wake the guests in the hotels near the mainstreet

Grindelwald can be pretty lively, best choice if this is important.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

xscreamer, I can vouch for the existence of the noise police after my OH and another snowHead were escorted back to the hotel for giggling too loud in the street at midnight. They were still laughing when they got in the hotel lift having hit each other with the snow clearing broom that was outside of the hotel door and set off the alarm on the door having forgotten the code. Good job most people on our floor were snowHeads. But boy was it quiet the rest of the time. If you want table dancing you probably need Austria. I remember being asked to leave a bar because it was closing (some time well before midnight).

The locals are still talking about this incident. Appalling behaviour. wink
