Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

HMR Visors

 Poster: A snowHead

Does anyone know, if HMR helmet visors are compatible with both H1 and H2 helmets?

I ask because in the photographs I have seen, there appear to be two different types of visors.
Being an Italian company, HMR are good at design and terrible at everything else, including product information or customer support.

Does anyone know, or own one of these helmets ?

Many thanks.

Yes they fit both, I bought a H2 helemet in Meribel a few weeks ago & I'm very pleased with it. I wanted a different visor on mine so the girl in the shop took one off a H1 & fit it to my H2. Smile

Thank you my dear.

I just bought a visor, which arrived today, and it fits my new Bargain H1 helmet.
So I'm pleased.

But do you know how scratch resistant the visors are, on their internal surface?
I mean, when you put them up or down, if they catch on your glasses or something else....

Does anyone know where I can buy a visor in the UK?

I've just bought a H2 from Snowfusion who are listed as HMR's UK distributor, but they don't stock the visors (or ship the helmet with one).

I saw visors for sale in France, but not with the fittings to fit it to a helmet.

Anyone got an EU supplier I could use? I emailed HMR direct, but I've had no response.

Boardlover, where did you get your visor?

That's an option, but I like the idea of the visor.

I don't like the way goggles press on your face and limit your field of view, personally.

I'm sure a million people will say HMR helmets are overpriced and gimmicky, but looking at a number of helmets on holiday, I was impressed by their comfort and build quality. Most ski helmets are bare minimum, the HMR ones feel quality.

Is that going to make any difference if you fall? Probably not, but they feel more comfortable to wear all the time you're not crashing (although the lack of air vents on some might mean you don't wear it on every run on hot days).

If I can't get a visor, I'll buy some goggles, but I like the idea of having a visor that's never not on my helmet - I can see the day when I decide I don't need the googles and then it clouds over...

Boredsurfing, I've edited your post as it didn't look right in this thread without the initial.

It is amazing that people join the forum to post about these visors. There was a similar thread a little while ago too - again mainly newbies. Or should I say mainly a newby?

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

I Googled everything but could not find a retailer in this country.
I bought mine from a German Online company who are HMR representatives in Germany, they deliver to the UK for 6 Euros I think.
Their Link is:

They just sent me my first visor and their service was great.

Good luck.

meribel46, Welcome to snowHead and don't let the odd negative coment put you off.

marmotte16, I've got a visor on my Bolle and it works a treat for me. If it looks silly, in your opinion, that's your problem not mine. Madeye-Smiley
