Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How do you get proof airport was closed for ins claim?

Got stuck at Gva at weekend insurance co want us to provide evidence airport was closed . Anyone know best route to take for this.

Kiters, I guess your airline could confirm that flight were cancelled/postponed? GVA was only very briefly closed, though clearly the chaos lasted quite a while.

Kiters, your airline will be able to confrim in writing the cancellation or delay. Can take a month or so to get the information from them though.

Kiters, airport was only closed for a short period. I presume your flight was cancelled however? Your airline should be aboe to easily provide evidence...

We got letters from the airline and hotels, dinner and breakfast in Zurich when Heathrow wouldn't accept flights. My insurers were being quite shady about what they would pay out for
