Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi guys, I'm off to Tignes in mid March.
I'm after doing an off piste clinic as I am craving to learn off piste skiing. I've noticed a couple of companies. Can anyone recommend? I have just read the recent topic on Evolution 2 and I like the fact they provide ABS backpacks. I have also come accross TDC, does anyone have any experience of them?
Also will mid March still be good for off piste? I imagine the weather conditions will be good, but the snow may not be.

Both companies good.
V impressed with the TDC instructors who have had the misfortune to teach me!
Loads of opportunity for off-piste skiing thru to mid-April. No worries! And off-piste is about dealing with variety of snow... ...not just the hero powder stuff!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

What safety equipment were you provided with at TDC?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've got my own equipment - shovel, probe, transceiver.
Most (all) operations will lend/hire you the necessary kit if you don't have it.
With experienced instructors, you can get a lot of fun and experience in terrain/weather that does not mandate all of the safety kit.
