Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

sidewall damage advice

Hi my preachers took a bit of a beating, see pics. Can this be repaired, could there be any further damage before this is repaired and could there be any ski performance issues.

These are this years preachers and the damage was done in a fall.

I'd have thought that a clamp, Stanly knife and glue would sort it out. Choosing the glue will be the trick.

roscoeh, fixed much worse on a snowboard . . . . If you want to go down the pro route talk to Spyderjon http://www.jonsskituning.co.uk/

Otherwise Google ski repair . . . you will need the proper epoxy.

It's essential you use a slow cure epoxy, the marine stuff's usually good, I know g flex is what on3p uses, and recommends.

Fixable but I'd leave it to Jon. Also store in a very dry place prior to trying anything - you look like you exposed the core and I am guessing water will have got in - you need to dry the core out as much as possible and keep it dry until it's sorted.

I bought them from Jon. The problem I suppose is the cost of getting them to and from the shop in Nottingham to Edinburgh and back via UPS.

Could take them to my local to do the work but would be interested to hear what Jon had to say.

I have them out in a warm room - should a couple of days (maybe 3) do it?

what amazes me is the number of "ski shops" that if you walked in with this asking for a repair would scratch their heads and suck their teeth before saying it wasn't possible, thankfully there are still a few workshops left in the world
