Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've been in Ski Welt at the beginning of January and it has been a bit short of snow...anybody know how constant these dates are from year to year?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The large majority of these dates are delayed year to year. These dates reflect the wish of the resort operators, and they should be considered as their internal deadline for putting everything together by then and just pray for the snow or cold. I am following the changes of these dates, most of the dates in November are delayed. I have the updated list, but I have not seen too much interest in this thread to post it.

kerekip, I'm interested, but I think I find it more interesting for planning holidays (exceedingly well in advance!) rather than 'as it happens', because unfortunately I'm not free to go off ski=ing whenever I want Evil or Very Mad snowHead Anyway, I've bookmarked this in the hope that I'll remember I've bookmarked when the need arises!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

kerekip, that'd be great - even if it's not actively updated it would give a broad guide as to when resorts felt comfortable opening and so give some indication as to snow sureness.

DB, great link, thanks. I'm off to Bad Gastein on 31st Dec and compared to the other resorts in the area, the snow is much lower, but it is a complete white out at the moment so fingers crossed.

Hope you get some skiing in this weekend - lucky thing!

Here at Muehlbach in Austria the lifts are open this weekend and next weekend and then full-time.- We have had 100cm of snow at the top and 50cm in the village.

Just the Karbachalm gondola and the 6-seat chair-lift are opening for the weekends.
