Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Navionics Ski Europe app

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi fellow snowheads, just got a great new toy - the Navionics Ski Europe app for ipad and am finding it an excellent way of completely losing track of time. Smile If you don't know it, it has piste maps and runs superimposed on Google Earth, with snow reports, panoramic pics and many other delights, for every resort in Europe! Reason for query: does anyone have any views on it and does anyone know if there is an android equivalent? I'm getting an android smartphone soon and will be taking it to Italy at Easter with hope of using app on slopes for navigation purposes. Cheers Little Angel

Surely given that you evidently work for the company that built it you would already know whether there's an android equivalent...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Why get an Android when you can have an iPhone? Toofy Grin

I haven't got this app but I'll download it to my iPad and iPhone later to give it a go. However, there are plenty of really good skiing/snow apps. Resorts have their own apps with piste maps, weather forecasts etc. For webcams, I really like "ski webcams", it's super easy to use and it's nice to have all webcams in one place instead of having to open lots of resort apps.

HeidiRhiannon, cause Android's market share is continuing to expand, and Android devices are a lot more customisable than iPhones. iPhone wins on marketing and easy of use though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks folks. Sadly can't afford an iphone Sad and no, have no vested interests in Navionics, just an excited first time user!
thanks for tip Heidi re. resort apps. I'm going to some Val d'Aosta resorts, La Thuile, Cormayeur, Cervinia - snow permitting at Easter, and so will look to see if there are any android apps for these.

Hi,
Just found this thread - the app is now out on Android. Not tried it yet - having a quick look at Ski Tracks at the moment - a bit cheaper!

Problem is I have no skiing to do for a while so walking test probably won't cut the mustard.

I used it last year on android. Looks like it was designed in the 90's, UI is clunky to route. Was left pretty underwhelmed
