Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiier and Snowboarder - Which Italian resort?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

You may have seen my other thread asking for advice regarding a trip for me and a friend at the end of this month. I'm a skiier and my friend a boarder, we are of advanced beginners / intermediate talent. We have decided to go to Italy, but can't decide between the following Resorts

Milky Way
Claviere
Sauze d'Oulx
Sestriere

Aosta Valley
Carvinia
Livigno

We are currently lookng through websites, reading reviews and checking on how each resort is stuited towards us but we wanted some feedback from here too.

Being 24 and 26 good Ski Apres is important Very Happy

Thanks, George

Hi, I can only comment on the milky way resorts. If you want apres, then Claviere is not for you. Tiny little village with only a couple of bars and one 'club' which is basically a small bar open late with cheesy music. Sestriere is larger but not lively. Sauze has the most life and I think would suit you and your friend best, there is a range of bars and there will be other young people looking for apres to socialise with.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Would agree with Sauze offering the best apres.

If I were you I'd consider staying in Aosta itself, proper town with good bars. Bubble up to Pila and liftpass valid for Cervinia, Le Thuille, Courmayuer. Being Aosta it's not too far to go vs being based in another resort.

If you want banging apres you need to look at somewhere in Austria IMO. It's pretty low key throughout Italy, Cervinia worth a vist just to get access to Zermatt but probably wasted given your ability-no offence.
