Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Leaving it late for a half term deal

I'd like to think that even for the Feb half term week, if you leave booking until a week before departure there will be amazing deals available.

Presumably the bigger package operators have flight seats to fill, so will sell at low costs.

Am I delusional?

A really good deal came up on Travelzoo last week for half term for around £350 each (lift pass included, in a 3 star hotel half board with transfers somewhere in either France or Italy- can't remember exactly & its no longer available).

If we weren't going away the week before (plus the 6-week notice period needed for annual leave), we would have snapped it up!

Adam123, The last question yes. Popular week, limted flights, because of very high original prices one does not need to fill a property to make a profit

Adam123, depends how many of you, how fussy you are about where you go, what's available there etc., There MAY be availability, but - barring a late cancellation by the originally booked party - you may be concerned as to why it's still available, when so many good places have been booked for many months

Adam123,

Allot will depend on where your flying from, if your in the south of the country or can fly London or Manchester you may well be able to pick up a good deal, if your restricted to other airports you may find flights sell out

Adam123, You could be our trial test case, at least a family of 4 booking on the Wednesday of Sat/Sun travel. Anything further away just counts as idiot that forgot to book. (must involve air travel to resort we have heard of and reduction of 30% minimum of brochure price)

It can be done, but doesn't always go smoothly. Sorry to tout my own thread, but have a look at this from two years ago:

I don't think (though not being in the industry am happy to be corrected) there's that much surplus space this season. Certainly if you wanted to go New Year week, there was pretty much nothing left last minute. I'm guessing half term is likely to be as bad.
