I went to the premier in London.. and what's even better about this film is what Warren announced before it started..
This film is a "stop-gap" film! They are planning an epic for next year.
Good stuff heh?

I thought it was very nicely done - good production values and all that - but did anybody else find it a bit, umm, dull? I have great respect for the abilities of the skiers who were featured, and it was interesting to see some of the interviews, especially with the 'old timers' who helped create the freestyle movement. But beyond that I have to say there's only so many tricks and jumps I can watch without getting a bit bored.
Credit to Warren and his colleagues for making this a free download.

Don't know if it's been preserved and transferred to up-to-date 'software' but we used to play a super 8 cine cassette (pre-video) back in our ski shop in 1976 called ...
... "Go For It". It was made by Salomon and was just the best early freestyle ski movie. It had all the stars of early hot-dogging, such as Wayne Wong skiing huge bumps, and a great soundtrack. Hopefully it's sitting in some vault somewhere ready to be rediscovered.
Freestyle was really wild and free then. It's more stylish now.

It's a problem with the genre I think, I know what you mean, there's only so many you want to watch really. People in half pipes is about the most tedious I find, it all looks exactly the same after a few hundred times.

True, it's one of the reasons I don't tend to buy skiing DVDs much any more. On the other hand, I can watch people skiing powder for hours without getting bored, so it may come down to the type of skiing that particularly appeals to you.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Good mixture of riders from the UK & NZ, nice to see for a change.
Lots of shots from NZ this season, loads of pros were down in Wanaka, it ws weird to see them in the super market & around town when your used to see them in movies.
Not enough actual skiing though.

I have watched this movie through a couple of times, it starts over if you have to pause it. I am convinced that there is a clip from The Blizzard of Aaah's in it. I think it's the one where a skier (Scott Schmidt) larges it off a ridge and the snow blows off the ridge behind him looking more like a waterfall in the wind. Nothing I could see in the credits though.

Going out on a limb here, but i'm going to guess that you personally don't ski much freestyle?
